With less than 3 weeks of school (and 7 of my students suspended for 5 days ) I have actually not hated my last few days of school. Its a miracle! It's been fun to actually teach. When those students return, I may write another referral to get them out another 5 days. It has been so nice without them.
Today is Gus' 5th birthday. He is unable to go to school due to his most recent bout with strep. His teacher called Scott yesterday because he had a slight fever and would not eat his lunch. It is a different kind of strep than Abbey's, which does not affect the tonsils. He could have this type 50 times a year and not have to have them removed. It took 2 hours for him to take the 1 and a quarter teaspoon of antibiotic yesterday. He hates it. When I said (after an hour and a half of nicely trying to coax him to take it) that we would have to cancel his party at the bouncy place and he would get no presents if he did not take it, he looked at me very sad and said, "Okay, Mommy". But he finally was able to get it down, and will be non contagious by the time of the party. Thank goodness.
